Staff Biography: Paul Schneider
Paul Schneider has been the MCW Com basketball reporter
since 1997. He covered the locker room during the 1999-2000
NCAA Championship season run by the Michigan State Spartans
for MCW's Sports Phone(R) and Great Lakes Radio Network
affiliates. He had additional duties as a football and hockey
reporter for MCW. He also did "Precious Paul" commentary for
both the "Coach Kurt Wrestling Line" 976 telephone and Motor
City Wrestling cable television programs. Currently, he pens
the "Hardwood Hoss" basketball column for the
Schneider played offensive line for Warren-St. Anne when
the Eagles won their first Detroit CYO football championship in
1990. He also played basketball and ran track at both St. Anne
and Madison Hgts.-Bishop Foley High School.
Schneider is a Foley HS and Michigan State graduate with a B.A. in Finance.
Paul Schneider first appeared in a DSBA/MCW softball uniform at age six when,
as the team's batboy, he entered the annual game vs the Detroit Tiger Wives as a pinch-runner. He later became a catcher-outfielder who won the Soft Brawlers' "Mr. T" award in 1997 as top tournament player. He also competed as a power-hitting Pitcher for the Marcus-Milichap division winning softball squad in South Florida play.
Still an accomplished amateur basketballer, "The Hoss" sports his own, specially-designed brand of footwear on the hardcourt. Nike created Paul's "Air Hoss" sneekers for the 2006-07 rec season.
A certified personal trainer, Dr. Paul recently completed doctorate studies in physical therapy
at Florida International University and went into hospital practice.
Paul and wife Melina are the proud parents of both Victoria and Carlos.
