Erik Schneider has been voted as the MCW softball
Most Valuable Player for 2013.
The CA-1B-OF received seven of the 10 votes cast
by his teammates.
Single votes went to 2012 MVP Paul Mikula, 2013
Rookie-of-the-Year Jimmy Walker and RHP Harry
Penczak (who did not lose a game in Dearborn league
play until the final doubleheader split).
Schneider led the club in a half dozen categories
including games played (27), at-bats (98), hits (64),
doubles (18), sac-flies (7) and, most importantly, RBIs (69).
Schneider came within one of tying his own team record for two-baggers
(19) set just last year. His 69 RBIs are the second most in the 35-year team
history, bested only by Bob Blair's record of 76 in 1997.
Schneider had a .646-BA in league play and .653 overall.
Schneider was the team Rookie-of-the-Year back in 2000.
Also in team balloting the annual "Stiff of the Year" award went to Mike McBride,
who no-showed all season.

Previously announced "Coaches Choice" award winners were SStop Jimmy
Walker as Rookie-of-the-Year and C-OF Paul Schneider as "Mr. T"   for MVP of
the annual MESS Tournament in Traverse City.

Erik & Paul Schneider become the first brother duo to win MVP & Mr. T honors
in the same year.
