Needing to beat the first place Southenders twice to take the Monday night
championship, the Detroit Press Club did just that in convincing fashion with 15-4
and 13-7 victories. The only time the DPC trailed all night was when the Southenders
batted first in the nightcap and took a 2-0/Mid-1st lead on a pair of unearned runs.

DPC                   15-20-2, 10-LOB
Southenders     4-10-3, 8-LOB

The Clubbers batted around and scored six times in the T-1st to spark a mini-rumble.
One of the Southend supporters made the mistake of throwing an elbow at former MCW
tag team champion Bobcat Blair, who blocked the blow and the spectator was ejected.
    Lead-off man Nick Evanoff was 3-for-5 with 3-R and 3-RBI on a 3-R inside-the-park
homerun. Paul Mikula went 3-for-3 with a solo homer and 4-RBI. Mike Crawford was 2-for-3
with a 2B, W, R & 2-RBI.

Southenders     7-10-2-, 7-LOB
DPC                   13-18-0, 7-LOB

Errorless defense refused to let the Southenders back in the game after the Clubbers
batted around to score a 7-R/B-1st for a 7-2 advantage.
Pat Zajch went 4-for-4 with a solo shot and 2-RBI. Mikula completed a perfect night
at the plate with a second 3-for-3 effort with a 2B, 3-R and 3-RBI on a 2rHR and a solo
blast. Blair was 2-for-3 with a 2B, 3-R & 2-RBI.
