M 5/4/09.....Superior Soda Blasters DPC Our lads took the season opener M 5/11/09.....Greasy Side 13-18-1, 6-LOB DPC 24-32-2, 11-LOB The Clubbers banged-out a season-high of 32-H in the runaway win. Lead-off man Nick Evanoff set the table going 4-for-5 with 1-R & 3-RBI. Gary Lesnau was 2-for-2 with 3-RBI. Paul Mikula stroked a 5-for-5 performance that included a dinger, 2-R & 5-RBI. Jeff Crawford was 2-for-3 with 2-R & 3-RBI. The DPC stayed perfect at 2-0 on the young season. M 5/18/09.....Sciclone Flyers DPC In a tight game until the late innings M 6/1/09.....Buffalo Wild Wings 2-8-4, 8-LOB DPC 26-28-3, 6-LOB In a one-sided skunking the DPC Buffaloed B-Dubs 26-2 to go to 4-&-0 on the year. Our lads scored 11-R in the 1st-INN, ten of those tallies coming with 2-outs in the frame. Nick Evanoff was 4-for-5 with a pair of triples, 4-R & 3-RBI. Doug Fry was 3-for-5 with 2-R & 4-RBI. Paul Mikula homered as part of a 3-for-5, 3-R & 3-RBI effort. M 6/8/09.....DPC 8-14-1, 12-LOB Hit Squad 11-15-1, 7-LOB This first place showdown of undefeated teams was well played and close throughout. However, clutch hitting was missing for the Clubbers who stranded a dozen men in suffering their first loss of the year (4-1). The game ended on a DPC flyout to deep CField with the potential tying run at the plate. Jeff Crawford went 2-for-4 with a homer and 3-RBI. Paul Mikula was 3-for-3 with a R & RBI. Gary Lesnau went all the way on the mound and was 2-for-2 with an RBI at the plate. M 6/15/09.....Greasy Side 9-15-4, 8-LOB DPC 23-23-7, 11-LOB Although our lads Pressed in the field with a season-high seven errors, the lusty hitting more than made up for sloppy defensive play in this first half of the first doubleheader of the year. Erik Schneider went 5-for-5,hitting for the cycle with 3-R & 7-RBI. Paul Mikula was 4-for-4 with 4-R, 5-RBI & 2-HR. Ed Kaltz was 3-for-3 with 2B, 3B, R & 2-RBI. M 6/15/09.....Superior Soda Blasters 9-18-2, 9-LOB DPC 22-23-3, 7-LOB The nightcap was similar to game one. Paul Mikula was 3-for-4 with 3-R, 2-RBI and a homer. Bob Blair went 2-for-3 with 2-R & 3-RBI. Winning pitcher Dave Geraci was 3-for-4 with 2-R & 1-RBI. The twinbill sweep put the DPC at 6-1 on the year. M 6/22/09.......Sciclone Flyers 0-9-3, 7-LOB DPC 18-23-1, 10-LOB The Clubbers finished the pre-4th of July break at 7-1 with this shutout win by WP Gary Lesnau, who had 2-W & 1-K in his 7-IP and also went 4-for-5 with 3-RBI at the plate. Other hitting heroes included Paul Mikula who was 3-for-5 with 2-R & 4-RBI including a 3rHR and Bobcat Blair who went 4-for-4 with 2-R & 2-RBI. M 7/6/09.....Buffalo Wild Wings 2-11-1, 11-LOB DPC 16-21-2, 8-LOB Beginning the stretch run the DPC scored a second consecutive one-sided win against the Buffalos this year and the Clubbers' second 4-game win streak of the year. Paul Mikula was 4-for-4 with 4-R & 4-RBI including a 3rHR. Ed Kaltz went 3-for-4 with 2-R & 4-RBI including a 3r3B. Doug Fry twirled at SStop and went 3-for-4 with 3-R at the plate. Erik Schneider contributed a 2-for-4, 4-R, 2r2B effort. DPC upped their record to 8-1 to set up a second showdown with the undefeated Hit Squad. |
