DRUMMOND 20-20s AS PISTONS BEAT WIZ.....Th, 3/29/18

    Andre Drummond had 24-P & 23-RB as the Pistons defeated Washington
103-92 Thursday night for their fifth win in six games.

    Detroit remained five games behind Milwaukee for the last NBA
Eastern Conference playoff spot with seven games remaining.

    Drummond came up big in the absence of Blake Griffin, a late scratch
due to an ankle contusion.  Griffin had a Thursday MRI with results due

    Deadlocked at 49 at halftime, Detroit outscored the Wizards 32-17 in
the 3rd-QTR.

    Drummond scored 13-P in the decisive 3rd-QTR.  Detroit finished the
frame on an 8-0 run for an 81-66 score.

    Washington got as close as 91-87 with 5:15 remaining.  The Pistons
responded with a 6-0 surge where Reggie Jackson scored 4-P.

    Reggie Bullock & Anthony Tolliver (who subbed for Griffin) both
had 14-P.  Jackson added 13-P.

    Bradley Beal scored 15-P and Kelly Oubre Jr. 14 for the Wizards.  Markieff
Morris & Tomas Satoransky each totaled 11-P.  Marcin Gortat had 10-P & 12-RB.

    Otto Porter Jr. (7-P) of the Wizards had to be helped off the court early
in the 3rd-QTR with a sprained right ankle.

    With a chance to clinch a playoff spot, Washington lost for the fourth
time in five outings.  


    Drummond's 20-20 game was his 20th, the most by any NBA player since
he joined the league in 2012-13.
    The Pistons gave Grand Rapids Drive swingman Zeke Upshaw an honorary
call-up.  Upshaw collapsed on the court in Saturday's Drive game and passed
away Monday.
