@ LOS ANGELES, CA:

Michigan won its 13th in a row to
foil Florida State's try for a fourth
consecutive NCAA tournament upset
Saturday night.

The Wolverines beat FSU 58-54 to
reach the Final Four next Saturday vs
Cinderella Loyola-of-Chicago in San
Antonio, TX.

    Michigan's Charles Matthews was
game-high with 17-P and Moritz
Wagner added 12-P.  Zac Simpson and
Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman both
totaled 9-P.

Phil Cofer scored 16-P and pulled down a game-high 11-RB while P.J. Savoy
had 12-P for the Seminoles.

Defense was the order of the ugly evening with Michigan shooting 38.8%
(19-of-49) from the field including 18.2% (4-of-22) beyond the arc.  Florida
State was 32% (16-of-50) with a 23.5% rate (4-of-17) on 3-point tries.

Michigan held a 27-26 intermission advantage after a tight opening half.

An early 11-0 second half run gave Michigan a 38-28 bulge.  Florida State
closed within 3-P three times.  A 7-0 surge gave UofM another double digit
margin of 54-44 on Duncan Robinson's 3-pointer with 2:26 to go.

Undaunted, the Seminoles went on a 10-2 burst capped by Cofer's tip-shot
with 22-sec on the clock to make it 56-54.  Robinson (7-P) made a pair of
clinching free throws to seal the win.

Michigan became 32-7 while FSU finished 23-12.
