@ TORONTO, ON:

    The Maple Leafs overcame a
brief 3-2 Detroit lead to score a
pair of 3rd-PER goals and Toronto
topped the Red Wings 4-3 Saturday
night.

The Wings have lost 12-of-13 (1-11-1).  The playoff-bound Leafs have won
two straight and 6-of-7.

Patrick Marleau grabbed a Mitch Marner outlet pass at center ice and
went on a right wing rush.  Marleau deftly backhand cross-passed to Nadim
Kadri (#29), who deposited the disc into an uncovered left side of Jimmy
Howard's net for the game-winner at 12:34/3 because Howie had bitten on
the Marleau fake.

After Detroit had survived a brief 5-on-3 disadvantage Toronto had opened
the scoring at 14:30/1.  During a scrum in front of the net Kasperi Kapanen
(#7) converted a cross-pass from James van Riemsdyk to shoot into an
uncovered left side of the cage.

Dylan Larkin (#12) tied it for the Wings by taking an Anthony Mantha stretch
pass, eluding a pair of Leafs defenders and shooting past Frederik Andersen's
glove at 4:32/2.

Moments later at 5:25/2 Andersen foiled Martin Frk on a penalty shot.

Tyler Bertuzzi (#3) gave the Red Wings a brief 2-1 lead at 9:37/2 when he
redirected Danny DeKeyser's right point wrist shot.

Connor Brown (#14) re-tied it for the Maple Leafs at 14:19/2 when he tip
deflected a blueline wrister from Travis Dermott through in front traffic.

Detroit's second lead came on a strange play at 4:58/3.  Initially ruled no-
goal when the in-net camera was dislodged, a review credited the 3-2 top
shelf tally to Frans Nielsen (#15) after Justin Abdelkader had potted the
rebound just in case.

A Detroit defensive turnover by Nick Jensen allowed William Nylander (#17)
to tie the game a third time 3-all when he converted a return pass from Auston
Matthews to beat Howard on the short side.

Andersen made 38-SV and Howard 25.
