@ DISNEY WORLD, FL:

    Preston Tucker batted-in two of
the three Atlanta runs including
the game-winner and made a couple
of highlight catches in LField as the
Braves beat the Tigers 3-2 Wednesday
evening in Detroit's only night game
of the Grapefruit LGE schedule.

Lane Adams drew a 1-out/B-8th 4-pitch walk from fourth Tiger pitcher
Warwick Saupold (L, 0-1), stole 2Base and scored on Tucker's single to
RField to snap a 2-all tie.

In the T-7th Detroit missed a chance to go ahead when Victor Martinez
grounded-out to end the inning with the bases-loaded.

Both Tiger tallies came off Braves starter Brandon McCarthy (2-R/1-ER
in 6-IP).

Leonys Martin led-off the game by hitting the first pitch to the RField
corner for a double.  Next batter Alexi Amarista bounced a ball through
the infield, ruled an error by 2Bman Ozzie Albies, and Martin scored.

Detroit tied the game 2-2 on a T-4th/2-out 400-foot solo homer by
Mikie Mahtook (#1) to LCField, just left of the scoreboard.

Tiger starter Francisco Liriano battled control trouble in his 5-IP &
97-pitches, giving up 5-W with 4-K and 2-R/2-ER on 4-H.

Dansby Swanson drew a B-2nd lead-off walk and streaked home when
next hitter Rio Ruiz stroked a double to CField to give the Braves a 1-1 tie.

Atlanta briefly went ahead 2-1 when Nick Markakis 2-out singled and
scored on Tucker's RBI double to the RCField gap.

Peter Moylan pitched the T-8th for the win (1-0) and Arodys Vizcaino
the T-9th for the save (#1), both facing the minimum three batters.

Tucker was 2-for-4 as the only batter in the ballgame with multiple hits.

The Tigers became 9-14-4 in Grapefruit exhibitions.

      DET       2-5-3, 7-LOB       (L) Saupold, 0-1
      ATL       3-5-3, 8-LOB       (W) Moylan, 1-0;  (S) Vizcaino, #1

EXTRA INNINGS:

Tigers #2 prospect, RHP Matt Manning, will be sidelined at least two weeks
after being diagnosed with a low-level oblique strain.
