    After snapping an 11-game
losing streak Wednesday, the
Detroit-Mercy Titans made it two
straight wins with a 93-91 decision over Youngstown State Friday night.

Although it was a tight final, this time the victory didn't require a last
second shot.

Trailing 41-34 at the half and 66-59 with under 8-mins to play, Detroit
surged toward the finish.  Corey Allen's pair of free throws put UDM ahead
to stay 75-73 with 3:42 remaining during a 13-4 run where DeShawndre
Black's free throw made it 84-76 with 1:10 to play.  Nine Titan free throws
down the stretch held off the visitors, allowing Detroit to permit a Penguin
layup by Devin Haygood to run out the clock.

Detroit was 19-of-26 (73.1%) at the charity stripe.

Allen was game-high with 34-P including 13-of-16 at the line.  Freshman
Jermaine Jackson earned all but two of his career-high 32-P from the field.
Roschon Prince added 10-P for Detroit-Mercy.

Cameron Morse led Y-State with 26-P.  Haygood had 14-P & 11-RB and Naz
Bohannon 13-P with a game-best 12-RB.  Garrett Covington and Tyree Robinson
both contributed 11-P and Braun Hartfield scored 10-P.

Detroit improved to 6-13 overall with a 2-4 Horizon LGE record.  Youngstown
State became 5-13 & 3-2.
