    Five Warriors scored in double digits
as Wayne State beat Saginaw Valley 74-57
Thursday night.

    WSU won a second straight contest
and for the fifth time in six games.

    The score was tied five times in the
first seven minutes with the Cardinals
never holding more than a 2-P advantage.

    Wayne went ahead to stay 12-10 on Karim Murray's second consecutive
layup, part of an 18-2 run that gave the Warriors a 26-12 bulge.  The
Cardinals closed with a 17-7 run into halftime to make it 33-29 at the
break.  However, WSU had 10-2 and 17-4 second half runs and led by as
many as 20-P after intermission.

    George Spencer scored 19-P, Chuck Key 17-P, Murray 11-P and Marcus
Moore & Ronald Booth 10-P each for Wayne State.

    Mike Wells Jr. scored a game-high 22-P for the Cards.  Fred John Jr.
added 10-P with a game-high 11-RB.

    Wayne became 8-5 overall with a 7-2 GLIAC record.  Saginaw Valley
fell to 5-11 & 2-6.
