      Third-ranked Michigan hosted
and defeated #18 North Carolina
State 79-72 Tuesday night as part
of the annual ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
      The visitors trailed 73-58, then
staged a 10-0 run to get within 5-P
with 2:11 remaining. Michigan went
almost 6-mins without a field goal and
the score was 75-70 with 54.4-sec
left when an offensive foul on C.J.
Leslie halted the Wolfpack comeback try.
Both teams shot well with NC State hitting 32-of-56 for 57.1% from
the field and UofM 50% on 27-of-54. However, the Wolfpack were only
2-of-8 from beyond the 3-point arc while the Wolverines were 9-of-24
on longshots. The other big difference came at the free throw line
where Michigan went 16-of-20 and NC State was just 6-of-9.
Wolverine Fr-GD Nik Stauskas was game-high with a new career-high
of 20-P. Trey Burke double-doubled with 18-P with a game-high and new
career-high of 11-A. Tim Hardaway Jr. had 16-P and Glenn Robinson III
T.J. Warren topped NC State with 18-P. Leslie had 16-P with a game-
high 10-RB. Richard Howell added 12-P and Scott Wood 19-P. Lorenzo
Brown (6-P) passed out a team-high 10-A.
Michigan remained unbeaten at 6-0 including 4-0 at home. In its
first road game NC State dipped to 4-2 on the season.

The UDM Titans fell to 0-3 on the road with a 70-65 Tuesday night
loss at Bowling Green.
Detroit shot only 37.5% (21-of-56) from the field, but still managed
to get within 2-pts at 63-61 with 1:39 remaining on Nick Minnerath's
pair of free throws. BG rebounding then kept the Falcons in front as
the Titans were forced into fouling. Bowling Green sank 7-of-8 free
throws in the last 1:08 to not only stay in front but expand their lead.
Jordan Crawford was the only Falcon in double figures with a game-
high 26-P on 9-of-16 from the field including 5-of-10 from beyond the
3-point arc and 3-of-3 at the line including 2-of-2 in the final minute.
A'uston Calhoun was next best for BG with 9-P.
Ray McCallum Jr. was the only Titan who shot better than 50% from
the field (10-of-18) and led Detroit with 25-P. Minnerath (9-for-11 at
the charity stripe) had 17-P and Doug Anderson 10-P.
Bowling Green is now 3-3 with a 2-0 home court record. Detroit is
2-3 with one game left on their 3-game road swing (at Pittsburgh
Saturday night).
