@ TORONTO, ONT:

    The Raptors defeated Detroit 82-75
Friday night in T-O to earn a split of the
exhibition season-opening home-&-home series.
Neither team could manage to shoot 40% from the field (Detroit started
0-for-9) in a game with 41 combined turnovers (23 by the Pistons).
DeMar DeRozan scored 14-P, Ed Davis 12 and rookie Jonas Valanciunas
11-P with 8-RB to pace the home team.
Valanciunas played 30-min and sank a key basket in the final minute.
Rodney Stuckey led the Pistons with 14-P, but had just 5-P after the
half. The only other Detroiter in double digits was Ukraine import
Viacheslav Kravtsov, who scored 10-P.
Kravtsov's second consecutive dunk gave Detroit a 68-67 lead with
4:03 remaining, but the Raptors scored the next seven points to go
comfortably in front.
Greg Monroe, Jason Maxiell and rookie Kyle Singler had 9-P each for
the Pistons.
