      Michigan remained undefeated
at home (14-0) with a 70-61 Sunday
matinee win over slumping Illinois.
      Ahead 37-31 at the half, the
Wolverines boosted their margin to
as many as 14-P at 58-44 on a mini
5-0 run via a Matt Vogrich triple
and a Jordan Morgan basket.
      The Fighting Illini shot only 9-of-29
(31%) in the 2nd-H and 38.9% for the game
(21-of-54). Michigan shot 50% (23-of-46)
from the field.
      Tim Hardaway Jr. & Evan Smotrycz both broke out of scoring slumps with 15
& 13-P respectively. Trey Burke added 14-P & Zack Novak 12-P for Michigan.
      Three Illini combined to score all but 10 of the 61-P for Illinois. Brandon Paul
had a game-high 21-P, Tyler Griffey 18-P and D.J. Richardson 12-P.      
      Michigan won back-to-back games for the first time since mid-January to go
to 19-7 overall including 9-4 in the Big Ten, a half game behind conference co-
leaders Michigan State & Ohio State.
      Illinois lost for the sixth time in seven games   to fall to 16-9 overall with a 5-7
Big Ten mark.

@ CALIHAN HALL:

      The Detroit Titans staged their second 2nd-H comeback of the weekend to
beat UW-Green Bay 77-74 Sunday afternoon.
      Trailing by a dozen early in the 2nd-H and by 51-40 with 13:25 remaining,
UDM went on a 17-4 run. Eight lead changes followed over the next 4:17 until
LaMarcus Lowe scored seven straight points in an 11-3 spurt that put Detroit
ahead to stay.
      UDM's Chase Simon scored 18 of his game-high 24-P in the second half. Ray
McCallum Jr. added 15-P, Lowe 13-P and Jason Calliste 11-P.
      Five Phoenix players scored in double figures, led by freshman Kiefer Sykes
with 14-P. Alec Brown added 13=P, Kam Cerroni 12-P and Brendan Cougill &
Steve Baker had 11-P each.
      Detroit won for the 8th time in 10 games to improve to 15-12 overall including
9-6 in Horizon LGE play, UWGB is now 10-14 & 6-8.
