The visiting Sudbury Wolves snapped a 2-all tie by out-scoring the Plymouth
Whalers 4-1 in the second period Saturday night and went on to an 8-4 win.
Monroe, MICH native Matt Mahalak got his second career OHL start in the Plymouth goal
and was not equal to the task. Mahalak could not hold an early 2-0 lead and was yanked at the
4:41 mark of the 2nd-Per when Kristoff Kontos scored twice (#2 & #3) early in the middle
frame to give Sudbury a 4-2 lead. Mahalak made only 6-SV with 4-GA in his limited time.
Marcus Foligno (#1 & #2) and Mike Lomas (#1 & #2) also scored twice for the Wolves.
Stefan Noesen had two goals (#1 & #2) and an assist for the Whalers. Rickard Rakell (#3)
and Peter Neal (#2) also scored for Plymouth. Tyler Brown assisted on all four home team goals.
Plymouth is in the basement of the OHL-West at 1-3-0-1 so far. Sudbury got its first win.
