The Tigers got a T-1st/3rHR by
Brandon Inge (#1) and went on to
beat the Blue Jays 8-2 Monday
Inge also doubled in his 2-for-3
performance in the clean-up spot
(Miguel Cabrera didn't make the
trip) that bumped up his spring
average to .294.
Ryan Raburn added a T-4th solo
homer (#2) and veterans Magglio
Ordonez and Carlos Guillen were both 2-for-4 at the plate. Maggs had a double
and Guillen an RBI. Rookie Austin Jackson added an RBI-3B.
LHP Nate Robertson (W, 2-0) had another decent start for Detroit. Robby
scattered 5-H & 2-W with 4-K over 4.1-IP.
Toronto's only runs came off Robertson on a B-2nd/2rHR by hot-hitting Randy
Ruiz (#3), who went 2-for-2 plus a W to raise his Grapefruit BA to .436 in 15
Phil Coke retired both men he faced as he finished the B-5th for Robertson.
Dontrelle Willis, Jose Valverde and prospects Josh Rainwater and Robbie Weinhardt
then each added a scoreless relief inning for Detroit.
Jays starter Brian Tallet took the defeat (2-1) by getting tagged for 5-R/5-ER
on 8-H (2-HR) & 1-W with 1-K in his 5-IP.
Detroit is now 11-8-1 in Grapefruit games.
    DET        8-13-1, 9-LOB      (W) Robertson, 2-0
    TOR        2-10-1, 9-LOB      (L) Tallet, 2-1

TIGERS 3B BRANDON INGE:   "I’m approaching full strength [after double off-
season knee surgery]...Playing has been the easiest step in the rehab. I’m still
stiff after games. But halfway through the season, things will be back to normal.
I still have to build my quads up some...The right one has been harder to recover
from, and the left knee was the bad one...I’m 100 percent hitting without a doubt."

The Tigers will host Washington Tuesday in Detroit's only night game in Lakeland  (6:05p/ET)
this spring. RHP Max Scherzer will start for the Tigers in his first "A" game action in almost two
weeks. Scott Olsen is the scheduled Nationals starter.
