WHALERS LOSE SEASON FINALE, BUT SEGUIN TIES FOR SCORING TITLE.....Saginaw 4, WHALERS 1, S 3/14/10

@ COMPUWARE ARENA:

    The Saginaw Spirit beat the Plymouth Whalers
4-1 Sunday afternoon on the last day of OHL regular
season action.
    Saginaw took a 4-0 lead and goalie Edward
Pasquale (34-SV) was working on a shutout into
the game's last half-minute. The whitewash was
spoiled by a power play goal from Tyler Seguin (#48)
at 19:34/3.
    The late goal gave Seguin a tie with Taylor Hall of the Windsor Spitfires for this season's OHL
scoring title with 106-P each. Seguin registered 48-G & 58-A while Hall had 40-G & 66-A. Seguin
finished third in the OHL goal-scoring race which went to Bryan Campbell of the Barrie Colts with
53-G and Jeff Skinner of the Kitchener Rangers was runner-up with 50-G.
    In Sunday's game Ivan Telegin had a pair of goals (#25 & #26) plus an assist for Saginaw.
Vincent Trocheck (#15, unassisted) and Jordan Skellett (#26) scored the other Spirit goals.
Josh Shalla had 3-A.
    Back-up Scott Wedgewood got the start in net for Plymouth and made only 16-SV on 20-SOG.
    The Whalers host Sault Ste. Marie as the OHL playoffs open next weekend.
