@ COMPUWARE ARENA:

The Whalers took an early 2-0 lead, never trailed and skated
to a 7-4 Monday MLK Day matinee win over Windsor before a
packed house of 3,412 in Plymouth.
     Tyler Seguin (#30 & #31) and Robbie Czarnik (#6 & #7) both
scored twice and Michal Jordan (#11), Ryan Hayes (#10) and Joe
Gaynor (#9) each added single goals for the Whalers. Plymouth
sored three power-play goals against Windsor's OHL top-rated penalty killing unit.
Justin Shugg had a pair of goals (#20 & #21) for the Spitfires. Eric Wellwood had a goal (#25)
and three assists and Kenny Ryan (#8) the other goal for the Spits.
All missing from the Windsor lineup were Zack Kassian & Greg Nemisz (both serving OHL
suspensions) and Dale Mitchell & Stephen Johnston (both out injured).
Matt Hackett made 32-SV in the Plymouth nets. Windsor's Troy Passingham allowed five
goals on 21-SOG before being replaced late in the 2nd-Per by Philipp Grubauer, who allowed
one goal on 10-SOG. Plymouth's final goal by Seguin at 19:46/3 was into an empty net.
The result left the season series between the two Detroit River rivals tied at three wins each.
The Spitfires lost for the second time in three games while the Whalers concluded a 3-&-1
homestand.
