TWO OF HIS GAME-HIGH 30-P<<

@ PALACE OF AUBURN HILLS:

The Pistons fell behind early and never
recovered to lose their season's-worst eighth
consecutive contest.
The New York Knicks defeated Detroit
104-87 Tuesday night.
The NBA's laughingstock most of this
decade, the Knickerbockers have won nine
of their 14 December outings.
The Knicks outshot the Pistons 49% to 37%
in the opening half to take a 49-40 halftime
lead. Richard Hamilton was Detroit's worst
offender, going just 1-of-10 before intermission.
New York scored the first 6-P of the 3rd-Qtr, Detroit closed within 9-P by using a
full-court press, but Chris Duhon's 3-pointer restored NYK's control. The visitors led
by as many as 19-P before coasting to the finish.
New York long-bombed all night. Danilo Gallinari attempted nine 3-pointers and
only one standard field goal try. Even though the Knicks went only 8-of-26 (30.8%)
from beyond the arc, overall New York shot 51.3% (39-of-76) from the field.
David Lee had game-highs of 30-P and 12-RB for New York, Lee's season-high
for scoring. Wilson Chandler had 23-P with 9-RB. Gallinani went 4-for-9 on triple tries,
1-for-1 from inside and 2-for-2 at the free throw line to get 16-P. Duhon and Al
Harrington each added 13-P with Duhon getting a game-high 7-A and Harrington
scoring 10 of New York's first 35-P.
Ben Gordon had 17-P, Hamilton 16-P (5-of-21 shooting) and Rodney Stuckey
15-P for Detroit.
