GRIZ ROUT DETROIT.....Memphis 115, PISTONS 94, Sa 10/17/09

    The Pistons were trounced at Memphis
115-94 Saturday night for Detroit's third
straight exhibition defeat.
    After starting the pre-season 3-0 at the
Palace the Pistons dropped a "neutral site"
game at Grand Rapids, then two road contests.
    Memphis raced to a 33-14 lead by he end of
the 1st-Qtr and then coasted.
    Rudy Gay had a game-high 25-P to lead the
Grizzlies including 20-P in the opening half.
     O.J. Mayo added 21-P, Zach Randolph 17-P with a game-high 12-RB and Marcus
Williams 16-P for th Griz.
    Will Bynum topped Detroit with 19-P on 6-of-8 shooting. Ben Gordon added 13-P.
    After missing the first five exhibitions with a strained  left hamstring, FA signee
Charlie Villanueva made his Piston debut with 12-P and a team-high 5-RB in his 20-mins
of PT.
    Pistons draftee Jonas Jarebko got a start and also scored 12-P. Rodney Stuckey
and reserve Chris Wilcox both had 11-P.  


    Detroit FWD Tayshaun Prince missed his second consecutive game with a cut under
his right big toe.
    Former Piston Allen Iverson remains sidelined for his new Memphis team with a partial
hammy tear, but watched the game from the bench dressed in warmups.
