OWN REBOUND FOR THE OT-GW GOAL<<

@ COMPUWARE ARENA:

The Whalers opened the OHL season Thursday with
a 6-5 shootout win at Windsor. Saturday night, Plymouth
defeated Oshawa 6-5 in overtime in the Whaler home opener.
In both games Plymouth took big early leads, saw the
enemy tie the contest, then relied on late heroics. Saturday
the Whalers led 4-0 after the 1st-Per, but needed Tyler G.
Brown's OT goal to win it. Brown dove for his own rebound and poked the puck past Generals
netminder Michael Zador at 3:23/4 for his second goal in as many games this young season.
Tyler Seguin had a goal (#3) and two assists for the Whalers. Miles McCauley (#1, a PPG),
Joe Gaynor (#1), Leo Jenner (#1, a PPG) and R.J. Mahalak (#1, a PPG) also scored for the Whalers.
Boone Jenner had the Hat Trick (his first three goals of bthe season) for Oshawa, including
the game-tying goal at 15:38/3.
The Generals out-shot the Whalers 39-38, but Plymouth had all five SOG in the OT.
     The Compuware crowd was 2,458.

QUOTEBOOK...

WHALERS FWD TYLER G. BROWN:   "I got a pass from Leo Jenner and skated into
the offensive zone. I wanted to get a puck on net since we hadn’t gotten many shots
in the third period and the overtime. So I got the puck on the net and I thought I could
get there for the rebound, so I dove and made it happen. I tried to use the defenseman
as a screen, so the goalie wouldn’t see the puck clearly. He kicked it right out to me.”
