FABULOUS FOURTH QUARTER.....SHOCK 81, Washington 77, T 8/11/09

    Trailing by 9-P entering the final frame, the Shock got hot and scored 35-P
to post an 81-77 road win at Washington.
    The suddenly surging defending WNBA Champions have won three of their last
four games.
    Detroit sank 10-of-14 (71%) shots from the field in the 4th-Qtr when Deanna
Nolan's 15-foot jumper from the top of the key put the Shock on top to stay 72-70
with 1:29 remaining..
     Nolan scored a game-high 23-P while Taj McWilliams added 17-P with a game-
high 13-RB for Detroit. Shavonte Zellous popped 16-P off the bench and Cheryl Ford
had 10-P with 10-RB.
    Five Mystics scored in double figures led by Alana Beard's 17-P. Crystal Langhorne
had 15-P. Nakia Sanford and Lindsey Harding each scored 12-P with Harding passing
around a game-high 8-A. Matee Ajavon added 11-P.
    The Shock improved to 9-11 while the Mystics fell back to even at 11-11.

SHOCK H-COACH RICK MAHORN:   "Deanna Nolan is a big key for our offense. If she's
rolling, so does our offense.''

SHOCK GD DEANNA NOLAN:   "We weren't worried. We were hitting shots. It was just
a matter of getting those stops. We were in an offensive rhythm ... attacking, getting
to the basket, getting to the free-throw line.''
