    The Pistons completed a 3-game
season series sweep of the Orlando
Magic, 98-94 Monday night in Auburn
The win was Detroit's fifth in their
last six games overall. Orlando had its four game win streak stopped.
Little-used Kwame Brown played 26-mins of tight defense on Magic star
Dwight Howard and scored 10-P himself in the process.
Brown came on after Rasheed Wallace suffered a 1st-Qtr strained left calf
injury, but certainly had help.
    Rip Hamilton potted a game-high 29-P with a career-high of 14-A. Antonio
McDyess had 13-P with a game-high and new career-high of 18-RB. Tayshaun
Prince scored 20-P and Rodney Stuckey matched Brown's 10-P.
A short jumper by Stuckey gave Detroit a 91-90 edge with 2-mins to go.
Orlando's Howard missed a pair of free throws and a Hamlton "J" made it a
3-point margin. McDyess knocked the ball away from Howard, then Hamilton
iced the win over with a mid-range jumper.
There were 15 lead changes over the final three quarters with neither team able
to get ahead by more than 6-P.
In spite of being shadowed by Brown, Howard led the Magic with 27-P & 14-RB.
Rashard Lewis added 21-P, Courtney Lee 10-P and reserve J.J. Redick 9-P.

PISTONS H-COACH MICHAEL CURRY:   "I thought every player on the team put on a
winning performance. I was worried how we would respond with three games in four
nights, but it was strong."

PISTONS GD RICHARD HAMILTON:   "My shot wasn't falling, so I tried to find my open
teammates. They were the ones knocking down the shots. When Kwame got in, I told
him to make himself a presence and I'd find him."

PISTONS CEN KWAME BROWN:   "I'm not sure if that was preparation or just birthday luck.
(Brown turns 27 Tuesday.) It felt great to go out there and battle with someone like Dwight,
who is one of the best players in this league."

MAGIC H-COACH STAN VAN GUNDY:   "All three games this year (vs Detroit) have been winnable,
and we haven't gotten them. Last year in the playoffs, we each had a blowout, and three games
went to the wire, and they won them all."

The Magic have lost 19-of-24 regular season match-ups with Detroit. Orlando has
lost 9-of-10 visis to the Palace. The Pistons eliminated Orlando from the playoffs in each of
the last two years.
Howard has 26 double-doubles in his last 29 games and in 50 of 61 outings this season.
Detroit All-Star GD Allen Iverson is expected to miss at least another two weeks ith his
bad lower back.
