    Michigan closed its men's basketball
regular season Saturday afternoon
with a 67-64 win at Minnesota.
    The Wolverines finished even at 9-9
in Big Ten play, going to 19-12 overall.
    UM had to stage a 2nd-H rally,
erasing a 12-P defecit to close the contest on a 28-13 run over the final
13-mins. Laval Lucas-Perry scored 11-P in a 3-min span during this run to
personally lift Michigan back into the game.
    DeShawn Sims had a game-high 24-P while Lucas-Perry potted a career-best
19-P. Many Harris added 14-P with a game-high 6-A for UM.
    Lawrence Westbrook went 9-for-9 at the free throw line to lead Minnesota
with 16-P. His pair of foul shots with 44-sec to go were the final points of the
    Ralph Sampson had 13-P, Damian Johnson 12-P and Jamal Abu-Shamala 10-P
for the Golden Gophers.
    Michigan swept the season series from Minny. The Gophers conclude regular-
season action at 21-9 overall and 9-9 in the conference after losing six of their last


UM H-COACH JOHN BEILEIN:   "Our last two road games were just like this, but they
didn't go our way; this one did...When you go through a season, hopefully you have
situations where you're down and your team fights back...We were just trying to
keep our composure...Our coaching staff, as much as we could, was trying to show
a "yes face" in the huddle. 'Just hang in there guys, hang in there, we have to make
a couple of baskets and get stops.'"
