@ COMPUWARE ARENA:

The Plymouth Whalers took a 3-0 lead into
the 3rd-Per and added an empty-net clincher
for a 4-1 Sunday matinee win vs visiting Saginaw.
The Whaler win, Plymouth's seventh in
eight games, drew them within three standings
points of second place Saginaw in the OHL-West
division. Both teams have played 59 games.
Tyler Seguin (#16) put Plymouth ahead 1-0
just 3:20 into the game. Ryan Hayes (#23) and
Chris Terry (#34) added 2nd-Per goals. Kaine Geldart (#10) had the ENG at 19:23/3. Matt
Caria assisted on all four Whaler goals. Beau Schmitz had a pair of helpers and Terry also
had an assist for a 2-pt afternoon.
Jack Combs (#28) scored shorthanded at 3:39/3 for Saginaw's lone goal.
After getting pulled from the nets when he gave up four goals in less than 14-mins in
Saturday night's home loss to Erie, Plymouth goaltender Matt Hackett made 30-SV Sunday.
The Whalers were 0-for-9 and the Spirit 0-for-7 on the power play in a chippy game
where 22 combined penalties were called.
    Plymouth out-shot Saginaw 45-31.
