@ FINDLAY, OH:     The Findlay Oilers
ran over Wayne State 72-49 in
Saturday matinee men's basketball.
UF is ranked #1 in NCAA-D2. The
Oilers remained perfect on the season
at 22-0, 18-0 in the GLIAC and extended
their amazing home court winning streak
at Croy Gymnasium to 70 consecutive
Findlay overcame a bit of a sluggish
start by forcing 18 WSU turnovers. UF
went without a basket for nearly 7-mins
as Wayne went ahead 9-4 . WSU soon fell
behind before back-to-back buckets by Bryan Wright had the Warriors briefly
back on top 15-13. However, Findlay closed the opening half on a 19-7 run for
a 32-22 intermission margin and it was all Oilers in the 2nd-H.
UF All-American Sr-FWD Josh Bostic sank only 6-of-19 field goal attempts,
yet still was game-high with 20-P and added 8-RB plus more game-highs of 6-A
& 5-STL. Morgan Lewis, another Oiler Sr-FWD, recorded a double-double with
14-P & a tri-game-high of 10-RB.
Not a single Warrior scored in double figures with Wright, Bryan Edwards,
Ricky Rowse and Shane Lawal all having 8-P. WSU's Jerry Oden (5-P) and Lawal
both matched UF's Lewis by grabbing 10-RB.
Wayne State fell to 8-14 including 6-12 in Great Lakes Conference play.
Halfway through a four game road swing, Wayne has lost three in a row and
four of five.

@ ATHLETICS CENTER O'Rena:     Oakland beat IPFW in men's hoops Saturday
evening, 83-72.
The Golden Grizzlies made it 11 consecutive on-campus victories including
nine this season.
OU led almost the entire game, spoiled only by a brief 48-47 Mastodons
margin with just under 15-mins left in the 2nd-H. That sparked a 12-0 Oakland
run and the Grizzlies led by as many as 15-P. Oakland bested IPFW 44-24 in paint
points and shot 50% (8-of-16) from beyond the 3-point arc.
Keith Benson scored a game-high 23-P for Oakland while adding 9-RB with 6-BL.
Freshman Blake Cushingberry had his first career double-double with 14-P and a
game-high 10-RB. Johnathon Jones (8-P) passed around a new career-high and a
game-high of 15-A. Erik Kangas & Drew Maynard both chipped in 13-P to the OU
David Carson led IPFW with 18-P. Ben Botts & Deilvez Yearby both scored 13-P.
Oakland improved to 16-11 overall including 9-5 in the Summit LGE. Indiana-
Purdue-Ft. Wayne dipped to 10-15 and 5-9.

OU H-COACH GREG KAMPE:   "Any win is a good win. I thought it was an ugly game
at times, but we are playing like we are unbeatable at home and that is nice to see."

@ DAYTON, OH:     The slow-starting UDM Titans lost 61-48 at Wright State
Saturday night.
The Raiders never trailed, led by as many as 25-P  and took a 12-2 lead midway
through the 1st-H after Detroit missed its first ten shots from the field. Following
the poor beginning, as close as UDM came was within eight points three different
Guards Todd Brown and Will Graham led Wright State offensively with 17 & 10-P
Thomas Kennedy topped the Titans with 14-P and had a game-high 9-RB. No other
UDM player scored more than 7-P.
Wright State went to 16-10 overall and 10-5 in Horizon LGE men's basketball.
Detroit declined to 7-18 and 2-13.

UDM H-COACH RAY McCALLUM:   "We easily could have let this get away and lose
by 25 or 30, but we fought hard in the second half. We have to do a better job
on offense, but I like the way we came out and never gave up.”
