    Richard Hamilton led the Pistons
in scoring for the sixth straight
game and Detroit won its season's
best tenth in a row in a 106-93
decision Wednesday night at DC.
    Eight of the ten consecutive
victories have been double-digit W's.
    Hamilton had 20-P, 7-RB and a
game-high 9-A. In the process he
became the 10th leading career scorer in franchise history.
    Trailing 27-26 after the 1st-Qtr, a 31-P 2nd-Qtr gave the Pistons a 57-47
halftime lead. Detroit led by double digits throughout the 2nd-H and a Jason
Maxiell put-back buzzer-beating dunk put the Pistons ahead by a dozen
entering the 4th-Qtr.
Seven Pistons scored in double figures. Besides Rip's 20-P, Chauncey Billups
& Rasheed Wallace both had 16-P while Maxiell had 15-P. Jarvis Hayes added
12-P against his former teammates. (Hayes signed with Detroit as a 2007 off-
season free agent.) Tayshaun Prince had 11-P and Antonio McDyess 10-P.
Caron Butler of the Wizards was game-high with 22-P and Antawn Jamilson had
21-P.  Antonio Daniels potted 18-P while Brendan Haywood scored 15-P and grabbed
a game-high 10-RB.

PISTONS H-COACH FLIP SAUNDERS:   "(Hamilton's) on a roll because of the way
the team is playing. He's a player...and he's getting good looks...You're happy,
because it shows your team is playing at a high level, and they('ve) played at a
high level for 30 days."

PISTONS GD RIP HAMILTON:   "When guys are playing like that, it's only going to
make us better, not just for the regular season but for the postseason, because
those guys are used to playing...They take advantage of their minutes...I told
Jarvis before the game, I know you have a lot of built-up animosity, but just go
out there and shoot like it's just another game and we're going to try to get a win."

WIZARDS H-COACH EDDIE JORDAN:   "I told our team this was a test. When you play
against the best team in the league...you have to see how you respond...I give us a
C or a C-minus."

PISTONS FWD JARVIS HAYES:   "It's a little weird coming in as a visitor, but that's
the name of the game."

The 10-game Piston win streak is their longest since an 11-game stretch in January
of 2006.
Detroit improved to 25-&-7 while Washington fell back to an even-.500 at 15-&-15.
The Pistons end their 2-game road trip Friday night at Toronto.
